What's On Your Desk Wednesday - Week 284

Afternoon WOYWWers ...

... and Everyone :)

I trust it's been a good day for you so far. I've been super busy, so much so, I didn't notice the time slipping by. As you might have guessed that's me explaining why I'm late for WOYWW #284 but, with apologies to Julia and all, here I am at last :)
This was my craft desk this morning - note the sunlight casting a welcome ray of cheer across my work surface. That's another Christmas cushion cover in production - the front is done, just need to make the back and attach it.  It's surrounded by the tools of the trade - a rotary cutter, quilting ruler and tape measure. At the back are some fabric off-cuts and the blue box is full of trims - piping cords, bias bindings, cotton lace and ribbons ... pretty stuff :)
Now here's a sight you don't expect to see on WOYWW! Cushion pads, loads of them :) We brought them back from a shopping trip at Dunelm Mill - I don't know what would I do if they closed that store - and just as a temporary measure they got dumped on the ironing board. I couldn't resist taking a photo before they were stashed away.
And finally, on the sofa 'desk', the crocheted bed runner is coming along nicely despite me having to take it easy and not overdo it because of the problem I have with my hands.

Almost more photos than words so I think Julia, our head WOYWWer, will judge this suitably brief this week ... I hope so anyway :) It was typed one-handed as the other was taken up with hugging a needy kitty ... The Boss demands her cuddles whenever!

Now, I'm off for a cuppa and chat with the EM, then I'll be back to do a bit of blog hopping.

Happy Crafting,

Oooh, your Christmas cushion is going to be so pretty. Are you going to make covers for all of the ones you bought?

That looks like quite the quilting ruler, so much going on!

Happy creating and Happy Woyww,

Hi Elizabeth! I love that part about typing with one hand because the other is busy with a needy kitty!!! I have one of those kitties as well! Wow, I love that score on cushions... I so need to make some new cushions for my house but the inserts are so darn expensive! This is my first WYOWW so I am feeling my way around and drooling over everyone's creativity of course! I do hope you will get a chance to pop over to my blog http://elisabetpollock.blogspot.com I am typing it out only because ever since I linked my blog to Google+ I'm not sure if my blog can be reached through my comments! Grrr. Anyway, it's great to meet you and I will be back for further snooping! LOL!
Hugs my fellow sister in art,
Beth (a.k.a. Elizabeth) P

Lots of lovely things on your desk today! The red Pom Pom trim is fab-u-lous and really sets the fabric off. And I love that crochet too, putting a line of white in makes the colours pop...I do that a lot too :-)

Pretty fabric and trim for that cushion, and it looks like lots more of them to come!! Well done on your buys - I really love Dunelm - quality and price are usually fab. That blanket is coming on a treat, too. I know what you mean about cats needing cuddles. When Rosie isn't asleep or eating, she's demanding that I sit with her - no crafting allowed - and cuddle her. Good job she's worth it!! Hugs, Chris # 7

So many things to comment on! I started at the top so saw the soup (and funny but DH just IMed me to ask what was for dinner so he could decide what to buy for lunch) and the mini photo album, and now the colourful crochet! Love it all
Number only verification has returned so I'm jumping on it!

Happy (late but determined to finish) WOYWW!

Looks as though you will be busy sewing covers for those cushions! I love that store too...I have been to the one in Scarborough. It is a perfect place to go and pick up gifts for our family there. Always so many choices!
